I agree with the sentiment. Completely unemotional, objective analysis of what is going on is called "enemy categorization and depletion". The purpose of both of these efforts is to reduce the total number of enemies to limit the overall collateral and "own force" damage during the war duration (a series of battles). This is EXTREMELY important in an information war where 40% of the population does not even know they are being used as "enemy soldiers" and they are in danger without even realizing it. You must try to get them to DISENGAGE from activities that make them enemy combatants.

Each battle is either a categorization operation to identify additional operatives or the leaders of the operatives OR a depletion operation to demoralize, flip, or force a retreat of enemy agents (with whitehats providing a path of retreat). As each battle is fought the number of "enemy combatants" gets smaller and smaller until it is actually safe to drop a MOAB without creating blowback or significant collateral damage that would inflame a Civil War due to civilian retaliation.
