It's not just liberals there are plenty of doomer conservatives and libertarians as well. I know one who is hopeful right now but he worries that Trump is going to make things worse by pushing the Treasury to lower interest rates even more and only pays attention to surface level economics (I long ago stopped bothering to discuss GME with him.) He also is one of those who complains about infringements on 2A (yep he's one of those "but Trump banned bump stocks" types as well) but doesn't really do anything more than complain while waiting for the ATF to come raid him some day. It's like he's just resigned to being some sort of Doomed Moral Victor.
