tbh there was a time in this country that a judge got to decide whether you could be or not be sterilazed. who the hell is a judge to tell you when you've had enought kids? did the judge pay for anything with their upbringing? no, so why did he have the legal authority to say yeah or nay?

then it came down to a woman had to have the permission of their husband if HE was done having kids.

since that time in history, it was always the woman who stayed home with the children, how much is enough for a woman to say she doesn't want any more children, since it's her body that is in danger and her mostly raising the kids to say, i don't want to do this any more? my mother was a monster, imo she should have never had even one child. so pushing women to have children that they can't deal with should not have them. a lot of abuse happened in my house because she couldn't deal with all the kids.

my mother almost died having her last child. it was the dr that told my father that if he wants to keep his wife, she can't/shouldn't have any more children. so my father made the decision that he wanted her over any more children. so it was up to my dad to have her sterilized.
