NATO should have been part of the "peace dividend" when the Communist block fell ~ 1990 and abrogated its purpose for existence. At least WE should have gotten out of it!

Europe is no longer devastated by WW II. Their economies, had they the will, could defend their OWN interests, without dragging our blood and treasure into it. So much easier if they rely on US for the lion's share, with the least national interest.

Russia is no longer godless, atheist Communism. It is not up to us to protect Europe from another neighboring country!
