It is a crying shame. Where did the ghetto culture, ebonics, dystopian rap, being educated is "too white" etc. even come from?? WHO dumbed down black education, black family instincts, and substituted a ghetto of dysfunction?

Did LBJ intend that the Great Society would have black people voting Democrat for the next 200 years? Did LBJ intend to help the existing black families of the ~50s? Or destroy it by forcing the father out of the home and rewarding "single moms" with their own welfare checks and section 8 housing? She did not have to select a man to marry and raise a family with! She could mate for sex, and get her own apartment without a husband, and a check for each baby. If the welfare were stopped, black women would be smart enough to choose a mate for his ability to support her children! DUH!

One of my senior black NCOs came back from visiting his family in East St. Louis. He had admired his uncle, a VN vet! His experience that Christmas, was his respected uncle recommending that he get out of the Army, and get into the high life . . . drugs, expensive automobiles, women on each arm!! This really big strong man confided in me, seeking validation I guess that he made the right decision, to give up even on family, and stay in the Army!

Not his mother though! He also told me, that when he was in high school, a teacher had dissed him, and he "decided to kill" said teacher. His mother found him sitting in his automobile outside, and said, "NO. I brought you into this world and I can take you out of it!"

His mother saved him. The Army provided him with the opportunity to achieve one of the highest NCO ranks. He had to put the ghetto behind him once and for all. I felt honored that he shared his personal anguish with me . . .

phantom, I am of your mother's generation. We are fighting for CIVILIZATION and the way to continue civilization is by having families living it. You are to be commended for that. The trend has been to even stop teaching civilization itself, because the writers are "dead white men." As though cannibals and mezoamerican / Peruvian civilizations who cut out the beating hearts of their sacrificial victims and ate them . . . are equally valid civilizations.
