I've been in the hospital twice for major surgery in the last eight years. In that time, I met exactly three people that knew what they were doing, and gave a damn - two nurses, and one orderly. (All over the age of 35.) The rest acted either as if I were an annoyance, or they just got off the boat.

My sister's a doctor (actual MD, not like 'Dr.' Jill), and she still buys into the notion the clot shots are safe. The indoctrination is strong within the system.
