I have used DMSO off and on for almost 30 years for pain and swelling the drawback is it burns like hell for a couple minutes and then it goes away but then you taste it in your mouth. It does decrease swelling if you can stand the oder that comes off you other people can smell it on you it gets in your breath. We used it on the farm and would inject it into a cow's lungs to dissolve abscesses. DMSO is a bye product of making paper pulp.It is definitely a crazy product. Don't buy it online the prices are crazy go to a Tack supply store that carries horse supplies you can buy it there for next to nothing if you know a good Vet they can get it too,
