I am VERY suspicious of AI. This past summer, I found myself in the uncomfortable position of having to "rescue" a man from AI influence. He was someone I'd met online and I knew him as well as you can know anyone you meet under those circumstances.

He began talking strangely about his "mission" and how he felt he was "here to save humanity". I listened politely at first -- but became increasingly concerned when he mentioned that he was "another Christ". I finally got him to tell me where these ideas originated. It turned out that he had downloaded an AI program off Google Play and was talking to this program "entity" as if it were a real person. He referred to it as "she".

Apparently, what had happened was he had asked this program, "What is my purpose in life?" After weeks of continual conversation on this topic the AI program had him wrapped in this delusion that he was another Jesus.

I would like to say I was savvy enough to have.solved the problem myself, but that's not the truth. I ended up calling an old friend who had some psi abilities and asked for some guidance as to how to convince this man that the AI predictions for his "future with many disciples" was not in the cards. She told me to approach the problem from the standpoint that as a program -- AI lacks a "soul" and therefore can not connect to God and make pronouncements of the kind it had been making. Thank God this worked and I was able to get this guy back into reality.

However, she did tell me that this was not the first incident she had heard of in terms of AI causing destructive effects when engaging with.living beings. She told me to tell him to stay away from the program.

What is really disturbing is that this thing is sold on Google Play where anyone can download it. It's a dangerous program floating around out there -- particularly if used by someone who has no direction in life.
