Until Trump came on the scene, I always had to hold my nose when voting - trying to decide which was the better of two really bad candidates.

I guess the saying fits better under the old Kennedy Democrat model, which is what applies to the makeup of the crowds at the no kings rally - all the senior boomer participants. Unfortunately for the country and Democrats, that model has long since been replaced by the more radical woke communist leftists that make up a large part of the party today. Some of the moderates still haven't gotten that memo. I used to be a Kennedy Democrat and left the Dems years ago when I saw the shift taking place. I didn't leave the party, it left me. I floundered for years as a nonpartisan, not becoming a Republican until Trump. I am sure I am but one among many that have walked that path. Those old boomer Dems still hanging on to the old Democrat values would fall into the "no brains" group.

I should have clarified my point of reference better. Thank you for your reply.
