The filibuster is neither a glitch or a goof, as explained above. It is a means of preventing:

Majority Rule running roughshod over minority groups. (Look how Democrat governors used their powers to quash dissent during COVID to see why this has horrid idea written all over it!)....

Granted, it has been used for both good and evil, but it still gives the minority party (or opinion) a tool to prevent bad bills from passing- and could also be used to prevent an unscrupulous President from stacking the Supreme Court. IMHO, this is why a suspension of the filibuster or a tactical removal of some ability to filibuster, would be far better than a full on nuking of it.
