IF that photo of Mr Allen is real... Was the guy "sitting shiva"? Note the towel "on the wall" next to the door in the background. In jewish tradition, when someone dies, the family covers all the mirrors in the house and friends and other family come to visit while they're in mourning (sometimes for a week). I don't know of any other reason someone would have draped a towel (over something) on the wall. Unless that's a curtain over a window? The top looks too bowed for it to be a curtain over a curtain rod, to my eye. Edit -- photo seems "questionable", to my eye.
