I came across this interesting video on the holographic world theory the other day. The thing that really stuck out for me is that I thought the concept was widely understood, not some sort of revolutionary scientific discovery. Obviously developing a mathematical theory to explain the subject still has significant scientific merit, but the way that people talk about the theory makes me wonder if it's not as common a belief as I had previously assumed. I wonder if there is a dichotomy in the population regarding how we understand our world, with a significant number of people who don't even recognize the possibility that information might exist beyond our reach which contradicts our perceptions.
