In July of 2020 I was diagnosed as having esophageal cancer at the juncture of the esophagus and stomach. This in itself is a highly aggressive and inevitably fatal form of cancer. At the time of my diagnosis it had spread to my liver, my larynx, and my brain.

The doctor told me, at my request, that untreated, this disease would likely kill me within six to nine months. He also said that if I undertook a full course of chemotherapy he believed he could extend my life by as much as a year or year and a half.

Research brought me to several possible alternative treatments, some of which made more sense than others to me. One thing they all had in common was they took time to take effect. Two to four months before signs of tumor shrinkage could usually be detected.

In order to slow down the rapid growth of these tumors I took a series of four chemo treatments, lasting from October to December. I add here that the only types of chemo that is reported to be compatible with the alternative therapies I chose are "anti-metabolite" types: 1. 5FU (Flouroracil) and 2. Xeloda (Capecitabine). Details and explanations of this are found in a highly recommended book, Outsmart Your Cancer by Tanya Harter Pierce, 3rd edition available in digital form for $8.00. Four chapters of this book are devoted to one of the three strategies I settled upon. Acquiring this book is an essential step in researching.

A CT scan is the most direct way of assessing the progress of cancer because you can "see" and measure the size of the tumors, but because there is a good sized amount of radiation associated with a CT scan, they try to limit the use of them to a few times a year.

Another way of measuring the level of cancer in your body is by looking at tumor markers in your bloodstream. From these numbers they can deduce the progress of the disease pretty accurately.

The following is a record of the numbers recorded on one of two successive monthly blood tumor marker tests starting in October and ending in February. The other test numbers followed the same pattern. The normal range is under 35.

October 367 November 1003 December 235 (last numbers affected by the chemo) January 29 February 20

To me, these numbers are immensely encouraging for anyone looking for hope in treating untreatable cancer. They are not conclusive. One cannot conclude that I am cured of cancer at this point, but they do accurately reflect the current state of my body. The latest CT scan of 3 weeks ago showed no tumors in my esophagus larynx or brain and the liver tumors have been reduced in size by 26% to 63%.

I will now describe what I have been doing for alternative therapies. I used three alternative therapies in addition to the particular type of chemo that was recommended for me. These types of chemo only are the ones that parallel the starvation strategy that the alternative treatments I follow. Other types of chemo are a very mixed bag and are not recommended by the recommendations I was following. You will have to make your own mind up about that issue according to what your condition is. Again I urge you to read the chapters mentioned in Outsmart Your Cancer.

I used these three alternative approaches at the same time and so I don't know which one or which combination might be effective. Perhaps it is all of them or perhaps it is just one or two of them.

Protocel also works well on animals.
