I went to a new church for my second visit. First visit they said they didn’t say anything to those who don’t wear masks. Second visit, a mask Nazi decided to approach me, while many others were also not wearing one—but had one in hand or hanging from an ear. I said no to the mask offered, rather politely no thank you, I won’t wear it.

It was like a restaurant. Wear it to walk around but not required in the cafe while sitting nor in the pews. The singers and the pastor didn’t wear one while giving the service.

Sitting distanced without my mask, not feeling the need to virtue signal with one hanging off my face, I listened to the Pastor try to sound awakened. Then it broke down into a monologue on the need to submit to a higher power, be a good Christian and do as I’m told and wear the mask to make others feel better. What’s next I thought, get vaxXed and wear a tattoo to signal I’m one of them?

I waited until he finished his sentence on submitting. Realizing he was manipulating the entire congregation, and most likely at me, I stood up in the middle of the service, looked at him and the Congregation and shook my head, smiled and left from the front of room, saying a prayer for them.
