You’re right that your wife has to end up making her own call on it. I don't know why she'd bother getting it if she's not scared of the virus, other than like you said, caving to social pressure, which is just sad.

As for your daughter, you're right. She shouldn't take it even if she hates you for it. Since your daughter is almost 17, tell her to wait until she's 18. A typical vaccine wouldn't have even been approved by then anyway. You can show her the fact sheet for each vaccine saying it's not FDA approved along with the potential side effects. I've linked all 3 even though the FDA is only allowing Pfizer for those under 18 under the Emergency Use Authorization.
