That's not at all how sending comms work. The people who write the articles send the comms. It has nothing to do with who made the characters. Super Mario and Donkey Kong have long been used to send comms. That doesn't mean they were DS creations.

Pede the frog was not made to represent Trump Supporters, but we use it anyway. When we make a meme with Pede's image, aren't we also sending an understood message? We laugh because we get the joke. We know what Pede symbolizes to us. However, Pede was not made to represent Trump Supporters. We just happen to use his image.

The creator was in no way "in on it".

I don't know why people are getting confused and thinking that because something is used as a symbol it means it was created for that purpose. No, Capcom has zero to do with this as far as I know. They just happened to have a character in a black hat and white dress that was useful to people who did want to send comms.

Lots of things are used by others as a symbol and to speak in code. Just because it gets used for comms doesn't mean the creator(s) are involved in anyway.
