While it isn't "free energy", there are a few possible places of untapped abundant energy. Below are a couple that I have studied to some extent.

  1. Cold Fusion. This has been a suppressed technology. When it first came out it was "debunked" by repeating the experiment by not following the recommendations of the first experimenters (Fleishman and Pons). Since then there are three decades of overwhelming evidence including numerous working prototypes that support it. Until recently I thought this experimental failure and suppression by the physics muckity-mucks was due to hubris and dogma. Now I think it was probably suppressed by the PTB. With such an abundant energy source all their plans fall apart.
  2. Zero point field energy extraction. Calculations of the energy density of empty space are non-zero. Different theories give (drastically) different amounts of energy per volume, but all theories are non-zero. Just because we haven't figured out how to do it (unless its also suppressed) doesn't mean it can't be done. All of our physics theories are known to be incorrect, incompatible and/or incomplete.
