And the Indians enslaved other Indians from different tribes too.

My late father who was Welsh, French and half Ojibwa, used to get annoyed when he heard the term "Native American" or especially "Indigenous Peoples" since there was a good chance his Ojibwa Ancestors came from Siberia across the Bering Straight.

His N. MI tribe from the Keweena call themselves Anishnabe, but their legal name still used today has the word "Indians" in it.

My father would joke when someone attempted to be PC about his heritage: "Just call me an Indian. It's what most tribes go by and makes Columbus look foolish cause he thought he was in the West Indies. "

No offense to Italians who love them some Columbus Day parades or celebrations.

History is interesting and people from all races have fallen short of the Grace of God.
