When we lived in Washington, we were just down the road from Bonhoeffer gardens which were created and landscaped by the brother of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. It had a pathway of boardwalk over a wetland and the plants were all native to Washington and endangered and every stop had scripture on Jesus disciples and what missionaries today continue and what happened during the Holocaust with photos as well as a piece of blown glass art from Pilchuck glass. It was really pretty and informative. The state kept fining him during building for supposedly violating codes in attempts of stopping the garden from being finished. He’d pay their enormous fines and get back to work.
