Yeah I've looked into this a lot myself. In fact, I bought the "Popular Mechanics" explanation for a long time and considered the "conspiracy theory" just nuts, like how could they all keep/be kept quiet (ah, how far I've come I suppose).
So to counter your argument about the fuel penetrating the windows etc, I just don't think it would do that really. And there's also the plane shape thru the (Thickass - TM) girders. It's easily debunked if you think about it the other way - what if girders going 600 MPH hit the wing? The wing would slice right thru? It's more like the planes would have smacked, and most everything - wings, fuel, and all - would have fallen down to the street below. (Also with your theory - how would the fuel keep going in a single mass right thru the wing and/or in the absense of the wing?). So just some stuff to chew on as you consider this whole thing further.
