It used to take 30 seconds once we checked the list of incoming 'flagged'. Box with a slider/arrows up and could go up to perma ban and also a 'IP checkbox' which was problematic if people were using VPN's a bit though. Sometimes a 1 day was good if you checked their history and was just drunk or pissed and had a ton of posts/votes/etc. Easy to pick out a spammer though PDQ. If there are a ton of flagged it takes a while to wade thru though.
