I do not know who is reporting this bs but the written police report by two officers on the scene tell the story. He was not being chased or pursued by anyone. The murderer had gotten into a fight with his baby momma again (the same one he tried to run over last week) she said, she was calling the cops, the cops had not even gotten to her at that point and were not searching for him yet. But he knew he was out on double bonds and is wanted in another state. He knew that another call on him to the police meant he was going to get locked up again.

He drove his car slowly past the first set of barricades where an officer stood in front of Brook's vehicle and yelled for him to stop. Brooks nudged the officer with his SUV where the officer had to jump to the side. At that point Brooks was driving slow enough for the officer to make solid identification and slapped the window of the SUV, yelling at him to stop the car. At which point he kept driving slow, then sped up to about 25 mph made a turn through a second set of barricades and then punched the gas and swerved towards people while avoiding cars parked on the side. The officer at the second set of barricades fired 3 rounds into the vehicle but had to stop shooting because of the crowds.

He was not pursued directly (by chase) after the mass murders either, Darrell Brooks drove his damaged car a few blocks away and parked deep in someone's drive-way to ditch the car, then walked to another house, knocked on the door and asked to use a phone to call an Uber. Police using traffic cams knew he entered that area and never left and found him quickly, the arrest was caught on a RING doorbell cam. On a side note, Brooks told the home owner he was homeless and some BS and since it was cold outside and Brook's had no coat on, the Caucasian home owner let him use the phone to call for a ride and gave Brooks a jacket in Christian charity. As the killer walked out the front door the police arrived and arrested him in his new jacket.
