Radiation or ultrasound. u/purkiss80 radiation and ultrasounds can make miracles here and already are used by customs offices in many countries.

I simply not believe US military white hats if they are under control don't have this tools. Simply what is needed is some hard drives to record data, helicopter (or few helicopters) and the source. Then the data should be computed.

I am of course not the expert to chose best method, number of machines needed and so on,but it isn't rocket science at all.
