As far as rock music goes, I sort of agree, more or less. Rock died when the melodic content was diminished or outright removed, which really started happening in the mid nineties on. The guitars became too loud and far too overdriven into harsh distortion. Rock became too bleak and dreary, when grating keys and chord progressions.

As far as music in general I noticed that starting with 1980 on, music made an abrupt sharp change every 5-10 years almost on the dot. 1990 was when they really started pushing black artists over whites ones, and 1992/1993 seems to be when they really started to push ghetto nigger culture, effectively sidelining any black artist that was not a rapper.
