I swear I think my wife is a reincarnated spirit from the depression era. She don't save her toilet paper, but she use to operate on the principle of, "If it's yellow, let if mellow. If it's brown, flush it down."

She is very fugal, and that too me, that is not a bad thing. I've become just like her though, and that not natural for me.

In the past, she would make lots of the Christmas presents she gave to family members. When we needed curtains for our house, she would make them, and professional like. She makes lots of her own closes, has reupholstered the furniture, furniture that she usually found beside the road. In most cases very expensive furniture that someone was throwing out. She found an old Pullman couch, like use to be in train cars, and completely redid it, and sold it for a good bit. I bought an old house built in the 20's. Lots of plaster, big windows, lots of wood. She scrapped down to bare wood the entire inside and primed and repainted it. Then burnt the entire outside down to wood, primed and repainted that too. She is an animal. She has more than once, weeded the entire yard by hand sliding around on her butt digging weeds up by the root with a pick, and I ain't talking about a postage stamp yard either.

I use to call her Ellen Sherman!

Now, she has gotten hooked up with a lady that gets tons of food, and cloths from the local stores/pantries. She helps her to build a stock which is then shipped overseas to the needy. They get more than they can give away overseas and locally, so I get boxes of free food. Stuff like canned everything, powered milk, boxes of grits, and pancake mix, peanut butter, you name it. I got a pretty good stock of food for end times.

Most of the suits I used to wear, I got them for $5.00 or less, and I'm talking about top designer suites from America and London.

In Sarasota, there are many old rich guys. When they die, they often take them to Good-Will where they can be purchased very cheap.

I use to tell people that how I got my cloths was to walk about downtown till I found some old guy on an oxygen bottle about my size. Then I would talk to him, find out his name, and keep my eyes on the obituaries. When I saw that he died, I would go to his house and buy his suites lol.
