I think your ghost idea is rather intriguing but it still seems to me that Bigfoot are doing a lot more interacting with the physical world than ghosts ever do.

I’m guessing it was the same entities that messed with our DNA to take away some of our supernatural capabilities. For example, post “Tower of Babel”, we humans lost our ability to use “mind speak”, an ability that most animals seem to have.

Instead we, humans, have to rely on tribal spoken languages that tend to make it easier to divide humans into smaller, easily opposable groups. Divide and conquer.
