I have always loved Alice Coopers music and although that would be a bias I have to say I’ve never got a dark vibe from him, his Schtick was theatrics and tongue in cheek. From what I’ve read of him he met his wife years ago and they’ve been married for decades and after his problems with drink and drugs (maybe he saw too much that he was trying to blot out?) he’s pretty low key when not on tour.
