She might consider changing her address to a state that protects religious exemptions and filing suit against the airline. As crazy as California is, my religious exemption is legally protected here. It really sucks that they can say “because of your religious exemption we’re not going to give you any hours, but you’re not fired. Oh and by the way, you can’t get a job at another airline because of our noncompete clause.” Her rights need to be protected, and her rights are our rights.

She should really relocate to a state that protects her religious exemption and also won’t honor non-compete clauses. Again, California actually gets this one right. Non-compete clauses are essentially unenforceable here. I’m not saying move here... but maybe get a PO Box here long enough to get whatever you need from it.
