The times don’t change once they’re opened, so a screengrab proves nothing. It only proves that the topic window had been open for X minutes at the time they were opened. It does not prove that both windows were opened at the same time.

You can get a better measure by mousing over the time in the GAW thread, mousing over the time in the Reddit thread, doing a time zone conversion, and then subtracting.

I got a little over 3.5 minutes when I compared it this way (if I recall correctly, so feel free to double-check) which is plenty of time to read it, screenshot it, and post it to Reddit. People sorting by new would have seen it quickly, and I think most people visiting here sort by new.

That being said, even that time difference isn’t certain, because I don’t know that Reddit uses precisely the same clock as the communities.win websites. If the clocks aren’t exactly the same, then the time difference could be shorter or longer.

The fact is that the screenshot can’t prove both windows were opened at exactly the same time (which, when we’re talking about a difference of only two minutes, is a necessary guarantee).

And I can’t definitely prove the clocks between GAW and Reddit are consistent, but at least you can verify the times empirically on your own this way and don’t have to take my word for it.

But 3.5 minutes is all the hard evidence I have that can be verified by you guys. Anything less than that is me just taking u/Zeitreise at his word, and I really can’t make mod decisions based on taking people at their word.

If there is hard evidence that proves a time different than the 3.5 minutes established by the Reddit and GAW posting signatures, I have not seen it.
