I have seen a solid lime green sky during a tornado in Minneapolis. The air friction creates high electrical potential that causes oxygen in the lowered pressure air to emit light in green wavelengths. It's uncommon to happen but real. It was also helped by there being a dense fog somehow created by the air pressure changes. Then the glow made the cloudiness light up everywhere. This was in downtown Mpls.

Two years ago in Northern California's Bay Area the sky was bright orange for days after fires loaded the air with smoke particles that filtered light. No blue at all. It looked exactly like hell should.
