Chidren's books are WORSE than what is on television. The subliminal comms/messaging is through the roof, (even/especially in beloved "classics") and most people aren't readers so they are even less equipped to monitor their children's reading material than they are their television watching (and don't forget streaming, which kids often do without any parental oversight at all).
