Edit2:. I just re-read your comment - in particular the antitrust part. I haven't delved into the actual acquisition, but it seems (from the quote I cited from the vigilant citizen article) that 21st Century Fox was acquired by WD after/while spinning off Fox TV News (aka Fox Television Stations/FTS, which Murdoch snapped up) - as you clarify in your discussion on the sale. So Walt Disney got the movie-making Fox entity while Murdoch got the fake news Fox entity.
