It will be EAS, so yeah basically. At least that's what I've understood it to be. I actually got a test alert a few weeks ago. No one else that I know seem to have got it. Did anyone else? I know they had one back in 2018 or 2019 that hit everyone's phone but this one doesn't look like it went to everyone. That was hilarious watching people seethe over it.

Now that I think about it, and reading the comment above, the 'presidential' alert may very well be a separate EAS channel that FEMA can't control. That's maybe why they are trying to get out in front of this, because if it is separate, most people wouldn't know
