I was walking down the hall at school taking something to the office for my 4th grade teacher. A little girl came bursting out of the office and ran towards me screaming, "Someone shot the President!" I remember stopping in my tracks and grabbed the wall! I turned around and ran back to tell my teacher and I don't even remember anything else until my friend's Mom (they lived next door) picked me up with her kids and brought me home to her house because my Mom worked for Federal Court and wasn't able to come pick me up since school let out early. We just sat on their couch glued to the news on tv while their Mom cried. Then my Mom got home from work and we cried even more.

The world was never the same for me after that. What a reality check for a child. To see your President murdered! And to make it worse I lived in Texas and the shame we felt as Texans was horrible. I hate (((those))) evil bastards.
