I agree with all that except the digital talk. I think we’re headed for a butlerian jihad of sorts.

Making chips is expensive and complicated and only makes sense on the scale we do it if we use foreign slave labour. In future we’ll be returning to simple mechanisms we can build ourselves. For example, ditch electronic fuel injection and apply modern engineering and manufacturing tech to the carburetor, or turbine engines like Lee Iococca wanted to build (the tech is now used in tanks). Diesel is rad too.

Same with all things. How much of the shit we buy has a chip in it for no reason? When the chip dies and they all die, the device is useless. Meanwhile the shit my grandparents used their whole lives still works to this day.

It will be worse when we realize to what degree all this technology is working for its makers and not us.
