This might help. When using a digital thermometer, for best results, do this:

While TURNED OFF, place the thermometer under your tongue in the hottest side of your mouth. Hold it there under your tongue undisturbed for a good 30 seconds or more. Then turn it on. It will read much more accurately and quickly.

Also, if you are sweating a bunch and fevering, you are fighting an infection and may have an underlying condition that needs treatment. Could be bacterial or viral.

If you are sweating a bunch, BUT NOT FEVERING it could be something else like a vitamin B-1 deficiency or an undiagnosed blood sugar (diabetes) condition.

Good luck!

Edit: Also, if you are using an ear thermometer, make sure to test both ears to see if they have the same temperature. If you have an inner ear infection, or one-sided infection it will only show on the affected side!
