My parents, 2 Aunts, 1 Uncle. And my dad just had a v-fib heart attack about 4, maybe 5 weeks ago. Right before Hurricane Ian ran over us. With everything that's happened, it's hard to keep track of just how long ago. He went down right in front of me. Took me doing chest compressions and my youngest son breathing for him until the paramedics got here. And they had to work on him with a defibrillator for 25 mins before he was stable enough to even be transported. The man basically was dead for at least 25 min.

Drs put in two stints after clearing out 2 fully clogged arteries and a defibrillator in his chest. But when asked, the cardiologists refused to say exactly what the clogs were made of. Mom wasn't with it mentally enough to ask. Neither were her sisters. I asked. The only time we ever were actually able to talk to them was right after the "procedure" for the stint placements. And this particular hospital doesn't give out Dr numbers to call and ask them any questions. It's a practice that just went into effect during and "post-Covid" here in Volusia County, FL. Dad spent a week in ICU, 1 week in a "normal" hospital room, and two weeks in a rehab facility. He's still so weak, I'm not really sure how long we'll have him around.

For those that don't know, the ventricular fibrillation heart attack is called the "widow maker." I think it messed his cognition yo a little bit, too. But he was already mentally declining before. So was mom and both her sisters.

"Oddly" enough, my other aunt, dad's sister, is 77, not coof vaxxed, and is more fit than most women her age. And she's doing just fine. Go figure.
