The press constantly makes that error. BI got it wrong too, by the reporter parroting uncritically. Not one of the cited articles identifies the true founders, AI researchers. All the cited founders are merely the surface, business people funding the AI people who are the ones who know the technology. Without them, no amount of business people would have achieved results. Geof Hinton, who identified that AI was on the wrong course and needs to rethink the AI, left the Bay Area. The real founders are names on papers OpenAI published. A key name is Radford.

Another part of this is that there is NO discussion of OpenAI's interaction with government. No coverage of their interaction with Reddit, where bots constantly slant things. There is a good reason Musk departed from the company... There are untold stories about all this.
