As I said in another post it appears someone broke in while Nancy was away (and her security).

Paul was helping himself to a pantless drink when the break in occurred (at his most vulnerable).

He called the police, and the dispatcher is a moron (?).

The police wanted the situation to go away, and Paul got hit with a hammer.

Attacker was likely looking to dispatch them both (?) when Nancy returned.

I can believe that threats on the lives of every politician and their family occur regularly, no matter the side of the ballot.

If Nancy has the kind of handlers people believe her to have, why weren't they watching Paul?

Maybe she never had that kind of protection, or maybe she lost it.

Maybe she was in on it? Who knows.
