LIARS. Just as she repeatedly told herself the government "says the vax☠x is safe" to justify saving her job, now that the damage has been done, she is still convincing herself the damage was not from her decision, but instead blames some other influence (the common cold).

This is akin to person needing to arrive at their destination. Except on the bridge is a lion waiting there. Instead, of turning and avoiding trouble, that person convinces themselves the lion won't hurt them. The ending here is predictable.

Somehow surviving the attack, the person then lays the blame on animal control and the towns people for having a path to the destination requiring a bridge crossing.
