China is in a tough spot. They can not support themselves as a nation and depend on globalization and foreign trade. Similarly, their authoritarian structure has created a virtual slave state that requires perpetual double digit growth to prevent a mass uprising. They’ve been able to satiate these issues by bribing their way into becoming a parasite on the western political system. That has worked for 30 years, but the winds are shifting. Globalism is being challenged and China is falling out of favour. What happens to the country when they lose their export production and access to the west? They’re working with Russia to bolster the BRICS coalition, but I’m not sure they’ll be able to pull it together in time. Russia is united as a people and is ideally suited to face inward and build upon its own surplus resources during a global financial collapse… China is in the opposite position.
