Is God the authority on truth or the Bible? Has the Bible passed through the hands of wicked men or not? Would those wicked men have a motive to alter the scriptures to lead people astray or not? Was Saul a Satanist or not?

The Bible, whether certain passages have been corrupted or not, is a great way to get your mind in the right place to commune with God. But then you should actually commune with God, and God will tell you the truth of all things. The Bible is a great tool for prepping us to commune with God but it is not God. If you lack the faith to hear God's voice, then perhaps the Bible is the best you can do for now. Hopefully someday though you'll recognize that if the Bible has anything to teach you, it's that men can, through faith, go straight to the source.

And yes, God does tell me which books in the Bible are more correct than others. And He tells me which verses in those books are more correct than others. And He reveals to me the original meaning and intent of the ones that have become corrupted. That's not me making myself to be the ultimate authority on anything. Quite the contrary, in fact.

And there's nothing stopping you from having that same kind of relationship with him, except maybe a lack of faith that such is possible, or at least, possible through you. But just know that this poster, at least, believes you have that ability.
