There's also something to ponder for all of us who already prep and are located geographically distant from the metro centers and high population urban hubs, where we expect the highest flashpoints of chaos and societal breakdown.

It is now becoming clear that prepping is more than just having long term supplies and being less reliant on centralized services and infrastructure. The problem is space weather trends. These upcoming solar cycles are probably going to be more impactful than in recent history. One reason is the earth's magnetic shield has been weakening steadily since the 19th century, so we're becoming more and more exposed to direct hit solar outbursts, particularly CMEs. This means in the coming decades the resultant geomagnetic storms with sufficiently powerful induction currents in the earth will more likely wipe out not just satellites and grid power hubs, but possibly do massive damage to anything composed of metals (think of the possibilities: railroads, underground pipelines, your 500 gallon propane tank across the driveway), and disable all kinds of everyday electronics and power sources. If those ground induction currents are powerful enough, anything with copper could melt or become useless. Above ground or underground.

So think about what it means for YOU and your loved ones in the next 10,20,30 years -- if worldwide or even just in North America we experience an instant reset on the electronics age? What are you able to access or concoct or mimic as far as tools and resources that are pre-electronics and/or pre-industrial? Most importantly, wherever you live right now as a prepper, can you survive there for up to 10 winters without electrical power sources of any sort? Specifically, think about the winters wherever you are, and game theory how you would endure those without power? For years?

Finally, what about the psychological prepping involved? Any unresolved traumas recent or back from childhood, will resurface when a fundamental disruption of every day existence happens like this. Think through what it means to be mentally and physically resilient to navigate the unknowns.
