The date of the coronation is most inauspicious - as in, it's about the worst day you could pick in Britain. It's the night of Beltaine, a wild night of chaos, revelry, and excess that has been celebrated in the Celtic world for thousands of years.

It survives today as Mardi Gras, Carnivale, Fasching, May Day, etc., and is about the last day where you would ever hold a solemn, sacred ceremony. This is the equivalent of holding the U.S. presidential inauguration in New Orleans on the last night of Mardi Gras, even if you do hold the event in a church/capital building. It's just not the time for it.

(Also, there is no such word as "coronated." Charles is being crowned, not "coronated.")
