Funny story: At my job, we do travel consults/travel vaccines. I had one female pt who was going to Africa and she asked me about monkeypox with a very worried look on her face. (This was when the media was first talking about monkeypox and scaring people). I told her that at long as she wasn't a man who had anal sex with other men, she'd be OK. She said "Is THAT how you get it?!" She had such a relieved look on her face. Poor thing. Damn media, scaring her like that.
