We British got our arses kicked in the USA in 1783.

Then we got kicked again in Pretoria after the 1st Boer War in 1881.

Hey on the bright side we demonstrated racial equality - in the 2nd Boer War we were fine with killing large numbers of both blacks and whites.

I spent a lot of time in South Africa (Johannesburg) during the time of Apartheid. Very depressing place back then. Seems like it is even worse now.

Hope things get better. With any luck the Russians will do some arse kicking in SA as it is in their interests for SA to sober up and pull its weight in BRICS instead of being a drag.
