They were on patrol with reinforcements (sounded like two squads, about 20 guys & gals) in their security sector and realized what was happening. Took up positions and nailed them as they came out.

It was a gang rush that ended up with a pile of 50 of em all around, and the IDF troops only had minor skuffs & bruises.

Really hard to get updates from on the ground. Their comms & internet are getting tons of interference and/or aredown most of the time so far.

And I agree with you. Some major shinnanigans going on over there. They have ground sensors too, specifically for tunnels. Should have known what was going on a long time ago.
