The Epoch Times requires a subscription.

Actually, I believe this is incorrect. Not all Epoch articles require a subscription. They have a certain amount of material (Actually a lot of it, if not most) that is open, plus they also have material that is for subscribers, aka premium content.

In this case, you can read the full article without obligation.

I'm a long time subscriber to Epoch, because I think they are one of the best OPEN journalistic sources around, so I want to support them. Occasionally, a subscriber like myself might post a link to an article without realizing we have access to it because it is Premium content, in which case it will not work for an unsubscribed person. But most of their content is free and accessible.

However, to answer u/starsbottomleft question, the reason greekish linked the archive is that this method can make the content available to all readers, including those who may not be able to access the content. We often use this method for material from outlets etc, that DO require subscription or payment, etc.

It really has nothing to do with not linking 'enemy' sources. All sauce is important for good research and the promotion of discernment. What we should not be promoting is doomer, fake or false content. But its perfectly appropriate to link almost any sauce for the purpose of discussion, analysis and digging.

(Personally, I draw the line at overtly destructive clickbait and disinformation operations targeting anons or awakened people)
