There is a reason that doctors must invest huge amounts of time and money to achieve their status, and are extraordinarily compensated. That keeps them from abandoning the profession when they get suspicious. Some do, anyway. In the seventies we got newsletters in the mail from doctors who quit medicine and advocated for supplements and alternative, cheaper and better modes of healing. Addendum: Nice article.
