I don't agree. As a New York Republican (and only one of two Jewish Republicans when he was in Congress), Zeldin has taken tremendous flack for his strong loyalty and support for Trump. Sure, he's not a staunch conservative, but neither is Trump. Nor is Zeldin a moderate, "Northeast Republican" type. He's the new kind of conservative, like J.D. Vance, or the younger and upcoming leaders who are riding the populist-right wave dominating the Republican Party. They are forging a sort of new conservatism that appeals to a lot of former Democrats and working-class voters of all ethnicities in places like Ohio and New York.

As for two NY'ers, well, Trump is from Florida now.
